What a big surprise at&t nickel and diming their own customers. I was already debating about switching to verizon with their better network anyways. I think this just the push I need now I just gotta wait till iPhone 5. As a 6+ year customer I can say "screw you at&t I am out."

as in the What cool little OS apps do you use? Thread (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=58101) i've enthusiastically urged people to give butler (http://www.petermaurer.de/nasi.php?thema=butler&sprache=english) a go. its a great second dock/os9 application menu as well as a quicksilver-esque fast finder launcher. it also customizes smart items to skip itunes tracks, control volume, and rate music on the fly. very customizable and the only thing you'll run in the background of your machine. it is donorware, but you'll feel like paying for it. ;)

I didn't get a 4 because I was holding out for a bigger screen. I really want to keep buying Apple products. But at this point, if the phone is delayed or the screen is staying the same size, I am going to have to start checking out some of the HTCs. My 3G is almost unusable since OS4.

The 4 port came with 5.1.3 but i had to flash the 2 port cart and load up 5.1.3

i don't see why so many people think iChat on a phone is so crazy or why it would need to be wifi.
i have a button on my Razr that is a direct connection to AIM so instant messaging from a phone isn't crazy, two of the people on my buddy list are on mobile phones.
iChat would be faster then texting and just cause this "second phone" would be very iChat based doesn't mean it wont be a phone. It sounds very sidekick like and the sidekick of course has AIM on it.
If they make a phone that will beat the Sidekick (shouldn't be too hard) then i'm in, i'd prefer that then just a a regular candy bar phone
But that is the problem. Instant messaging has been on phones for over two years. Why would they want to sell a phone on instant messaging if everybody pretty much already has a phone with IM already? There's no reason to buy it if they're going to advertise a feature people already have it on their phones.

In 5 years time, Kindle OS will have a greater market share than android I think.

Can buying things like charging cords and docking stations from places like eBay and from other companies other than Apple mess up the battery on an iPod/Touch?

That sounds like a horrible waste of resources. Why don't you just use the native Mac OS X binary? The Intel SMP is in beta but is perfectly stable.
