My attorney signed my I-485 AOS/EAD/AP applications and posted them on July 2nd as he was in a hurry to apply because of July 2nd scenario. Is it ok for the attorney to sign our papers. Is anybody in the same boat as me. I am a little concerned as the USCIS FAQ says application can be rejected if signature is missing. The application reached USCIS on July 3rd.

In the 485 filings for me and my wife, my divorce certificate for my previous marriage was put in my files but it should have been with my wife's file per 485 intruction because she is the derivative applicant. If USCIS can't find it in my wife's file, will USCIS look for it in my file since we filed together?
If this is not required as initial evidence then they will issue an RFE and then you can send the documents later.
To fix the problem, could we resubmit my wife's 485 now and withdraw the one just submitted even though we don't have the receipt for it yet? or should we wait until we get receipt for the one just submitted and then resubmit her 485 application when my PD become current again? or could we just submit the missing file after we get the receipt and my PD becomes current?

You analysis is inaccurate and misguided.
Look at the top table which shows data released by DOS. Last month 75 application have been reduced and in month back 100 applications were reduced.
This is really really bad sign for EB3 and even for EB2.

you cannot file two 485s. what you can do is get till the 140 stage, and then port the old 485 to your 140.

Is it possible to file I-140 without joining the employer? Can one join the employer after the PERM and I-140 are approved? Any risks in this case?

u can file but u have to join the petition filing employer once u get GC or otherwise it will be fraud.

AILA has reported that when Rep. Lofgren issued a letter to Secretary Chertoff, she also disclosed that "It has also come to my attention that USCIS began returning visa numbers to the State Depaartment as early as Thrusday, July 5, 2007." It could be the answer to our question why they are holding July filing cases and why they stopped adjudicating 485 cases for which they pull out the numbers before July 2, 2007. What a mess
can any1 interpret wat this means

USCIS has already enacted a regulation that allows the Service Centers to issue multiple-year EAD. However, this regulation has not been implemented by the USCIS because of its impact on the USCIS revenue. The Ombudsman wrote on March 20, 2006 his recommendation to Dr. Emilio Gonzalez, Director of USCIS to implement this regulation on the ground that multiple-year EADs would substantially reduce the USCIS immigration benefits workloads and that if impact on the revenue was the hangup for the failure to implement the published regulation which is a binding rule, the USCIS might consider raising the EAD application filing fees. Multiple-year EAD will relieve the customers from substantial inconvenience and hassle each year. The statistics also strongly support the Ombudsman's statement that issuance of multiple-year EAD would reduce substantially the USCIS workload. For instance, the February 2006 monthly immigration statistical report indicates that the total receipts of entire applications and petitions numbered 409,893, out of which EAD applications numbered 100,051, during one month in January 2006. It means one-fourth of total immigrantion benefits applications and petitions were taken by the EAD applications! This reporter strongly and without any reservations supports the Ombudsman's recommendation and justification! This reporter urges Dr. Gonzalez to implement the regulation as soon as possible.
The CIS Ombudsman also recommends the USCIS to issue EAD valid as of the date of the current EAD expiration rather than the date of approval. Current practice has raised pains and aches to the I-485 waiters in two areas: Potential gap between the date of expiration of current EAD and the date of approval of extension of EAD, and loss of some period of existing EAD when the EAD renewal is issued a few months earlier than the expiration date of the current EAD. I came US on h4 visa .One employer had filed for my h1b last year,and they said i got the approval.but the employer had no job for me as part of recession.So I am still on h4 .Will I loose my H1 approval.How long is the validity of h1b approval ?:confused:

I got soft LUD on my and my wife 485 on 02/10/2009
I called USCIS they said , it is an batch update - no information they can provide. I am not sure what it means.
Does any one else got soft LUD around this date ?
We got it on the same exact date. No RFE, just soft LUD. I was hoping they probably processing our cases. But if its just a BATCH update, its a bummer.
However, I am surprised you called the USCIS and they entertained your call. They must be in good mood that time.

Hi all, not sure if this has been posted in any other thread, if so, Admin please delete.
I was surprised to get a letter in mail from USCIS today dated March 26th referring my letter sent to White House from IV letter campaign.
Basically it says the letter was forwarded to USCIS from White House and after they researched my case, it is still under name check and my PD is not current yet for a visa. They also included three inserts on fact sheet about name checks-why and how, new memorandum on name checks that has been discussed here and the March/08 visa bulletin showing that my priority date is not current.
Just basic stuff but I wonder if these are being sent to everyone that sent a letter to the President during the campaign. Anyone else received the letter?

On Monday USCIS was showing that my EAD card has been ordered and today it changed to Approval notice sent....
What is the difference between these two, anyone?
I know both of them sound like music to my ears but want to know WHEN exactly should I be expecting the actual EAD...
