My attorney signed my I-485 AOS/EAD/AP applications and posted them on July 2nd as he was in a hurry to apply because of July 2nd scenario. Is it ok for the attorney to sign our papers. Is anybody in the same boat as me. I am a little concerned as the USCIS FAQ says application can be rejected if signature is missing. The application reached USCIS on July 3rd.
My attorney also did the same. I did not sign on my application. But he sent me power of attorney to sign. They did this since they were beating the July 2 brouhaha which previous to that week, they already knew what's going to happen.

It looks like we just missed a great opportunity to post a legal immigration question on change.gov. The goods news is that they will roll this out next week. So if you want to submit a question, be ready!...I will be sure to bump this thread..
Go here and type "legal immigration" in the search questions field.
http://change.gov/page/content/20081211_openforquestions
I saw a few questions already posted about legal immigration reform. We should all register and vote for these questions(whenever they roll this out again next week). It takes less than a minute to register. All they ask for is your name, zip code and email address.
Mods, Please discard this if this idea has already been put forward.
Good find ! By the time they would read your message, Obama would have lost a bid for second term.

Apparently, FP and approvals go in parallel. Checked my case status online, and all 3 of our cases got approved today. The status was set to Decision. I guess it won't go to card production until my wife's FP is done, or maybe my daughter and I will get the card before my wife. Waiting for the snail mail to confirm, seems like an anticlimax after waiting for so many years.

Hi ,
my experience with O visa is that paperwork, presentation, previous track record of the lawyer with USCIS is critical
so in this case, absorbing the 5000 cost difference may be a good idea
Of course you can always ask your employer if they are willing to take that hit but as you know you have a 50 % chance there at the best
So decision is yours

I am planning to go to Canada for H1B visa stamping. Will there be any problem if i have company on H1B. I opened in 2003 and My friend is working in that company. I am working for my employer only. Will there be any problem if i have company either in GC stage or getting Visa in Canada.
Thx
You can venture business interest even if you are on H1 unless you dont work for that company..
Good Luck With Your Stamping!!!

Lets create new thread for every application received by every different person and track each of them ....
Why can't we spend some time on DC rally and do something productive then tracking who received your application..

On Saturday morning, the Senate failed to advance the DREAM Act (H.R. 5281) on a vote of 55-41. Sixty votes were needed to move the bill forward procedurally and stop any filibuster. With that loss, the fight for the DREAM Act is over, at least for this Congress. Below is a summary of Greg Chen's report of this vote.
The vote tally in support of DREAM included three Republicans who crossed the aisle to join 50 Democrats and 2 Independents. Those three Rs were: Richard Lugar (IN) and Robert Bennett (UT) who had come out in support long ago and Lisa Murkowski (AK) who started signaling this week that she would vote yes. With their yes votes, DREAM maintained its status as a bi-partisan bill back nine years to when it was first introduced with seven Republican co-sponsors. Today, long-time DREAM champion Orrin Hatch (R-UT) failed even to show for the bill he originally sponsored in August 2001.
Unfortunately the gain of three Republicans today was not enough to make up the difference. Combined there are 58 Democrats and Independents in the Senate, and there are 42 Republicans. If all the Ds and Is voted in favor, only two Rs would have been needed to reach 60. But today 5 Democrats voted against DREAM: Baucus (MT); Hagan (NC); Nelson (NE); Pryor (AR); and Tester (MT). And one Democrat, newly elected Joe Manchin (WV) failed to show. To win on cloture 60 votes were needed no matter how many actually voted. Thus, a no-show counted as a no vote.
As the 111th Congress comes to its sputtering halt, at least on immigration, the question many are asking is whether there will be a real opportunity to bring up DREAM in the 112th. Looking forward, we face at least two enormous legislative challenges: First, the House will shift to Republican control with 242 Rs and 193 Ds. Last week the House passed DREAM on a 218-198 voteyou can bet your house we wont muster a strong showing like that, let alone a majority, when the new session starts. Second, in the Senate, the Democrats will still have the majority but their margin of control will be 53-47 so getting the yes votes will also be harder in that chamber.
For many of us the source of continued inspiration has been to see all the DREAM activists walking the halls of the capitol and showing tremendous courage when they are the ones who have everything at risk. Let's keep a positive spirit for the future as the fight is not over yet.

In Franz Kafka's chilling story "The Metamorphosis", a man wakes up one morning to find that he has been transformed into a "gigantic insect". Recently, a California family, all permanent residents for over 30 years, was suddenly informed by the government that they were all illegal aliens and must return to Thailand. Mr. Promsiri entered the United States on a student visa. His wife and two young sons, aged 10 and 3 joined him in 1971. In 1975, the parents obtained a divorce from a Thai Consulate in the U.S. The wife married an American citizen, and the couple honeymooned...

The guy in the boxing stance is an aspiring film producer who saw a photo of Jet Li done by Jeff Dunas where everything but the leading fist was in focus and wanted something similar. I like it because it's different.
The guy crouching....his face is out of focus no photoshop involved, that was my mistake. Unfortunately, I have to go with lighting and posing aspects to hopefully override the focus issue as I'm out of time.
No comments on the guitar shot? I'm just going to go with a "no news is good news" attitude on that one. :)
Truth be told, I've had a lot of problems with this portrait class. I've never really done formal portraits (nevermind worked in a full-blown studio environment) before so I had (and still have) a lot to learn.
Thanks for the comments though.
